Visiting Seattle poet Eileen Fix will be reading at Kings Books, TONIGHT, February 13 at 7 pm.
(Open mic follows, sign up at 6:30)
I’ve heard Eileen a couple times at readings up North, and really enjoyed it. What I’ve heard of her work is touching, and full, and sounds like real life. Her reading style and and tone keep you hooked into the words… definitely not someone I walk away from thinking, “I think I need to read her stuff on the page to enjoy it.”
Here’s what the King’s Books website says about her:
“This monthly event features a distinguished writer and an open mic for poets, playwrights, short story writers, and others. This month features poet and artist Eileen Fix of Seattle. She has been writing poetry for more than 11 years and is one of the original performers/ founders of the Little Red Studio in Seattle. Her work is at times very sensual and erotic and in other writings shares her experiences of dealing with M.S. Open Mic sign-up is at 6:30 pm. Admission is free. The event occurs monthly the second Friday of every month at King’s Books. Sponsored by the Tacoma Arts Commission and the Puget Sound Poetry Connection.”
I’ll be there. You should be too.
