“Dance in the Country

This fine man is smooth
and dumb, doesn’t intimate
one shuffle-step-lean that you
have lit my smile.

in the warm spring night.

You, etching the crowd’s edge
with sharp eyes, soothing tongue
that speaks cool
fans my smooth dumb desire.
